The Musician

This weeks mini-shoot evolved around music. As a try-out for something bigger, we invited Crazy Gary to our studio, to jam away on his saxophone and guitar while we worked the camera and lighting.

During this minishoot, we tried to create a more stylish, jazz-rock feeling, mostly induced by my own influence in music choice while we work.

The main reason to try out this theme (besides we liked the idea from the start, and to humour Crazy Gary who really wanted this) is that we’re planning a megashoot soon, and this practice run will work great to test the stage, so to speak. It showed us what to expect and where to improve when we have less control over the situation. In a studio, it’s usually the photographer who’s in full control, but on location, during an event, it’s more likely a “now-or just forget the shot” situation.  See it as a trial to find the right angle for shooting a live gig. (Yup, we’ve got some big plans).

With a production time of 4 hours, I think the result is “promising”, to say the least.
